2020年11月1日，第三届西大King's优选计划KSP考试即将举行。本次将采用网络考试形式，分为数学和英语两部分测试。英语能力考试说明如下：
 
第一部分
Oxford英语考试
 
ONE
Part 1. Oxford Placement Test (80minutes)
There are two sections in the test: Use of English and Listening, with separate scores for each. The Use of English section assesses students' knowledge of grammatical form and vocabulary. There are three parts in this section:- Complete a short dialogue with the appropriate grammatical form or lexical item (multiple choice)- Read a short dialogue and identify what a speaker means (multiple choice)- Type the missing word in gapped text with the appropriate grammar or lexis
第一部分 Oxford英语考试（共80分钟）考查学生英语技能应用及听力水平。
英语技能应用能力部分主要考核学生语法和词汇的使用，这部分考试中会有三类题型：
- 补充句子中缺少的语法词汇（多选题）
- 根据简短对话，选择说话人的观点（多选题）
- 完形填空
 
The Listening section assesses students’ general listening ability. It consists of three parts:- Listen to a short dialogue and identify what the speaker means (multiple choice)
-Listen to a longer dialogue and identify what the speaker means (multiple choice)- Listen to a monologue and identify what the speaker means (multiple choice)
英语听力测试部分主要考察学生基本的听力理解能力，这部分考试中会有三类题型：
- 听一小段对话，选择说话人表述的观点（多选题）
- 听一长段对话，选择说话人表述的观点（多选题）
- 听一篇独白，选择说话人表述的观点（多选题）

英语写作考试
 
TWO
Part 2. Writing (60 minutes)
Students are provided with the option to choose one topic out of the three topics suggested. They are given 60 minutes to produce a well-organized piece of writing. This test measures the ability to write effectively. The writing sample will be scored on the basis of how effectively it communicates a whole message to the readers for the stated purpose. The score will be based on the ability to express, organize, and support opinions and ideas. The following five characteristics of writing will be considered:- Focus: The clarity with which you maintain your main idea or point of view- Organization: The clarity with which you structure your response and present a logical sequence of ideas- Development and Support: The extent to which you elaborate on your ideas and the extent to which you present supporting details- Sentence Structure: The effectiveness of your sentence structure- Mechanical Conventions: The extent to which your writing is free of errors in usage and mechanics
第二部分 英语写作考试（共60分钟）
学生将在给出的三个议论文题目中选择一个，在规定时间内完成一篇文章写作。评分标准主要参考文章的信息传递完整度，清晰阐述论点和主张，组织论述内容和材料，以及对论题的分析和观点表述，即以下5个方面在文章中的体现程度：
l 明确观点：中心论点和主要观点清晰明确；
l 文章架构：将一系列观点逻辑性排列陈述清楚，文章段落及观点分明；
l 观点支持及延展：详细说明要表达的观点和想法，以及表明观点的辅助信息表达；
l 句子结构：句子结构以及上下文衔接；
l 文章通顺：文章中的拼写，语法等使用正确与否。
 
 
 
第三部分
英语口语考试
 
THREE
Part 3: English Proficiency Test - Speaking (15 minutes)
Students are tested individually. They discuss a suggested topic and answer questions for approximately 10-15 minutes. Students are assessed on their speaking and their ability to interact in dialogues. The main criteria for assessment are grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency. Please note that we will conduct the Speaking tests live on Zoom. Closer to the test date, you will be notified of the schedule.
第三部分 英语口语考试（约15分钟/人）
每个学生单独与考官一对一考试，在15分钟里，学生与考官就指定的题目进行讨论和问答。口语考试主要考查学生口语基本能力以及在对话中的表述积极性等方面。同时会根据口语中体现的语法，词汇量，发音，流利程度等进行评分。
还请注意，口语考试会使用Zoom会议系统，考试前会将相关信息发送给考生。
